WORLD WATER DAY!

Im a bit late on this one, however its still not too late to do your part!! Received an email from Solange a couple weeks ago about World Water Day. This is a great cause & as we are all brothers & sisters we gotta take care of each other the best we can. In this day & age we need to do this more than ever. Read below to see what you can do to help!  <3

Hello friends and family,

I’m coming to you on World Water Day asking for your help to fight the water crisis in Africa. Right now, almost a BILLION people on the planet don’t have access to clean drinking water and 300 MILLION of those people are Africans.
I have joined forces with http://www.musicforrain.net/ to try to raise money to provide African communities in North/Central Cameroon, Gahanga and Masaka, Rwanda, as well as Kampala City, Uganda with clean drinking water by building rain water harvesting roofs, drinking wells and bathrooms in schools across those areas. The children from the schools will also be given water bottles to collect the clean water and bring home to share with their families.
One of the reasons I loved this project is because, not only does it provide the necessary clean water…(HALF OF AFRICA’S POPULATION SUFFERS FROM DISEASES RELATED TO UNSAFE DRINKING WATER) but it also establishes a community maintained opportunity for jobs!
I know times are tough for everyone everywhere, but if you can, i’m asking everyone to give a donation to MUSIC FOR RAIN to complete our $10,000 goal to build the wells, and roofs to create clean water for Africa. The power of a dollar goes a long way when everyone participates.
However, we can also contribute by spreading the word, raising awareness, starting the conversation!
This is the STARTING point to our 2015 goal to provide over 2 million Africans with clean water. But baby steps first….

When you donate , you’ll also receive a download of the song “Kenya” that me, Chris Taylor (Grizzly Bear), and Twin Shadow did with collected sounds from Africa for an amazing clip directed by Natalie Johns! Listen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDYSvKiJShQ
